Son Bou
The largest beach in Menorca right by you
Son Bou is eight kilometres from Alaior and is easy to get to by car or public transport. It is one of Alaior’s most popular urbanizations with plenty of tourist accommodation available. You can also visit the Paleo-Christian basilica at the Eastern end of the beach, which is the largest and best conserved one in Menorca. As a nucleus, Son Bou has all sorts of services: chemist, supermarkets, tourist information office, shopping centre, leisure area, bars, restaurants and car-rental offices.
Sant Jaume
Fun, services and a break right by the beach
The urbanization of Sant Jaume is right beside the Son Bou beach. Most of Alaior’s tourist accommodation is located here, meaning that there is varied range of services. In addition, access to the beach is simple and can easily be done on foot.
Torre-solí Nou
The best venue for a family break
This third tourist area within the urban nucleus linked to the north of Son Bou beach is the urbanisation of Torre-solí Nou. The accommodation on offer in this area is a mix of hotels and holiday homes with their own swimming pool. A good option if you are looking for tranquillity and comfort on a family holiday.
Cala en Porter
Observe the sea from high up
The urbanization of Cala en Porter is 11 kilometres from Alaior and is also on the south coast of the island, and here the most significant difference is in the landscape. Where the area comprising Son Bou, Torre-solí Nou and Sant Jaume is a plain which finishes with the longest stretches of sand on the Menorcan coast, Cala en Porter is protected by sheer and soaring cliffs on each side of its beach. The landscape is stunning, and it also links with various other routes.
